The Giant Brain; a project dreamed up by myself to creatively think about left brain/right brain activity.
In 2004, I created a life size sculptural pit pony for Erewash Museum; starting with willow then padding with newspaper, adding gumstrip then tissue paper and glue and a few bits and bobs of horse hair. Of course, it's a bit more complicated than that.
And I wish I'd got some photo's of the finished results; it was magical!
As part of an arts and heritage project with Ormiston Academy and Erewash Museum, I enabled to production of sculptural coal blocks (seen here in the back of the museum itself). In this picture, the pieces are not fully complete, but the following shows the pictures and poems which were pasted on to bring some historical, coalmining perspective.
